Withim is a Bible reading and journaling app built to help you grow in your faith. We believe your spiritual life is deeply personal, so we designed Withim to keep your data private by default. This policy explains what data Withim collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
1. Data Stored on Your Device
Most of your data in Withim lives entirely on your device in a local database. This includes:
- Bible text (KJV and Korean 개역한글 translations)
- Diary entries (your journal writings in rich text)
- Verse highlights, bookmarks, and saved verses
- Reading progress and streak data
- Notification preferences and app settings
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to enable cloud sync by creating an account. If you use Withim without an account, none of your personal data is transmitted anywhere.
2. Cloud Services (Optional Account)
If you create an account to enable cloud sync, the following services are involved:
Authentication and Cloud Sync (Supabase)
- We use Supabase for account authentication and cloud sync.
- When you create an account, we store your email address for authentication purposes.
- If you enable cloud sync, your diary entries and reading data are synced to Supabase so you can access them across devices.
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on Supabase infrastructure.
Subscription Management (RevenueCat)
- We use RevenueCat to manage Grace Plan subscriptions.
- RevenueCat processes purchase receipts from Apple or Google. We never see or store your credit card information.

Anonymous Analytics (PostHog)
- We use PostHog to understand how people use Withim so we can improve the app.
- Analytics data is anonymous — we collect screen views and feature usage patterns, but no personally identifiable information (PII).
- You can opt out of analytics at any time in Settings > Privacy.

3. What We Do NOT Do
We want to be clear about the things Withim will never do:
- No ads. Withim does not show advertisements, ever.
- No data sales. We never sell your data to third parties.
- No third-party tracking beyond PostHog, which is anonymous and opt-out.
- No access to your contacts, photos, or location. Withim does not request or collect any of this data.
4. Your Rights and Controls
You have full control over your data in Withim:
- Export your data. You can export all of your data as a JSON file at any time from Settings > Export Data.
- Delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated cloud data from Settings > Delete Account. Local data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app.
- Opt out of analytics. You can disable anonymous analytics from Settings > Privacy.
5. Children's Privacy
Withim is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify users through the app where appropriate. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
